Dean Grissom

Born in Arizona and now living in Phoenix, Dean Grissom is an award-winning artist and author whose work is inspired by the Native People, history, culture, art, and traditions of the Southwest.

Dean creates original fine art entirely from wood. Using wood burning to create small squares and India ink to bring the patterns to life, his finished pieces appear woven, yet they are 100% wood, with no weaving involved.

His artwork is juried into galleries and exhibitions and has received awards for design, precision, and creativity. Dean’s pieces are displayed in galleries in Tucson, Phoenix, Tubac, and Gold Canyon, including Scottsdale’s Main Street.

In addition to his art, Dean is an author of historical fiction. His stories feature characters who are part Native and whose lives reflect the strength, resilience, and beauty of the cultures that have shaped the Southwest.
