I love classic cars. Every weekend and vacation was spent around cars or fishing. After spending 35 years in management for Penske Truck Leasing in Oregon, I looked forward to retirement to spend every available minute driving, working on or admiring old cars or fishing. Sometimes life gets in the way of doing what we plan but new loves take priority. The discovery of exotic wood and making beautiful pieces of art soon became what most of my time was spent doing. Cars are still being driven and rebuilt. Our 1962 Chevy Impala SS still has the best place in our garage.
We moved to Arizona in 2011 and love our life here. A portion of the garage has transformed into a full woodworking shop with all the toys. I love seeing the grain of the wood come to life when cutting, sanding and shaping it into a beautiful wall hanging, tray or cheese slicer.
We still go back to Oregon to visit our families, Nicky and Kim and the grandkids as well as Marsha’s kids, grandkids and great grandkids. We also spend a lot of time with the kids I have known since grade school. We call ourselves the fab four for the 4 friends and their extended families and remain best friends.
