Heidi is a clay sculptor and ceramicist who brings stoneware to life through expressive animal forms and functional wheel‑thrown pieces. Animals have been her passion for more than thirty years, and that lifelong connection shows in the character, movement, and personality she captures in every animal.
Her work is rooted in craftsmanship and inspired by the quiet beauty of the natural world—each piece shaped by hand, fired with intention, and made to be lived with.
Her dedication to the craft has earned her numerous awards, and her work can be found in private and public collections across the country, including the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in Arizona.
She is also a respected member of the Society of Animal Artists, a recognition that reflects both her skill and her commitment to the field of animal art.
Her second passion emerged unexpectedly when she helped a teacher guide her son’s sixth‑grade class through making their first clay mugs. What began as a simple classroom project opened the door to a deeper creative calling, revealing the joy she finds in teaching, sharing, and watching others discover the magic of clay.
Today, her studio blends artistry, storytelling, and everyday usefulness. Whether sculpting a whimsical animal or throwing work on the wheel, she creates pieces that feel grounded, expressive, and made to last.
