Jeff Capehart

Jeff is a Gold Canyon–based artist and co-founder of Gold Canyon Art Gallery, created in partnership with his better half, April.  He specializes in distinctive line art creations that capture the essence of recognizable personalities and custom concepts using a single, unbroken line, expressed through an elegant and minimalist style.

His artistic journey began early. Since elementary school, drawing has been a constant — a lifelong habit of sketching, doodling, and exploring form through ink. A few years ago, encouraged by his daughter to explore portrait work, Jeff turned his focus toward people. Since then, he has created more than 200 line-based portraits, each reflecting his unique visual language.

Working primarily with ink pen, his pieces range from monochrome studies to carefully layered color compositions. Most drawings are created using a single continuous line. In multi-color works, each color maintains its own singular, uninterrupted path.

Since relocating to the Arizona desert in 2021, Jeff’s work has expanded to reflect the landscapes and cultural textures of the Southwest. Desert scenery, regional themes, Native American influences, cowboys, and cacti now frequently appear as subjects, adding new dimensions to his evolving body of work.

Jeff also accepts custom commissions, creating personalized works that translate individual stories and subjects into his signature one-line style.
